    TRAPPIST-1 system

National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) has discovered largest batch of 7 Earth like planets around a star outside our solar system. They said that, three of these planets are firmly located in habitable zone & could have liquid water on those planets which means sign of life.

The system of 7 planets is about 40 light-years (235 trillion miles) from Earth. These planets are scientifically known as exoplanets. The exoplanet system is called TRAPPIST-1. In May,2016 researchers discovered 3 planets in the system. Now the number increases to 7. All planets size is mostly like Earth & rocky in nature. All 7 planets orbits are closer to their star than Mercury to Sun. The planets are also very close to each other.

“This is a major step to discover life beyond our solar system”, said one of the researchers. Scientists need to experiment the atmosphere of those planets to ensure if the planets support any kind of life.
